The color and fit of this gown were gorgeous...I got compliments all night long! The cut was incredibly flattering, and managed to give my very straight shape the illusion of curves. I wore a padded strapless bra to help fill out the bodice, but the fitted waist kept the top in place even without the bra. Very comfortable and very little tugging or adjusting necessary. I was worried the petite length would be too short (the R wasn't available) but it was perfect with 3" heels...hit the floor in front and the train still dragged a little. So, so pleased with my first RTR experience!

true to size. it was hit for our formal affair. I'm a little short (5'4") and wore about 2.5 in heels - I didn't trip, but 3' would have probably been better. would totally recommend. there is a gold zipper on the side that is a bit noticeable, but not awkward at all.

I am 5'1" and 125 pounds. My main concern is always the length of the dress but this dress was perfect with 4" heels. I did not wear a bra with this dress, which is always a plus! (on a side note, I ordered the 0P as my backup size - it wouldn't even zip around my chest) However, dancing was a little struggle as the top kept trying to slide down. In a room full of women wearing black dresses, I felt like a standout and a star. I have never felt more beautiful and confident.

Runs slightly small. I had reserved a 6R but was unfortunately not available. RTR of course contacted me and sent me my choice of replacement. As always, customer service was excellent! Dress was a bit tight but nothing a pair of spanx couldn't help! Beautiful color. I'm 5'4 and would have gone with the 4R if it had been available as the L was long on me but with my 4 inch heels it wasn't a big deal. I would definitely recommend this dress. I love it. Wore this to a very high end, very fashion forward event and it was photographed and published. The color and material were amazing. It fit me well, but a bit roomier through the waist and hips. Would have loved a size down. Loved wearing it!!

The dress was a little big across my chest while fitting perfectly everywhere else. I wore a push-up bra & used some fashion tape but still had to pull it up quite a bit during the evening. But the dress is so gorgeous, it was worth it!

Perfect fit. I am 5'3". I wore an 8R with 4 inch heels and had no problems. I love the designer. He works for me.

I usually avoid long dresses because they expand at my hips and make me look heavy, but this gown hugs all the curves and flares beautifully below the hips. It was a little tight around the chest, no need for a bra, and I had to be careful not to get my skin caught in the side zipper. Overall -- one of my favorite dresses, a pretty color that stood out in a room full of 1000 people. I'm 5' 6" and wore 4" heels and the length was perfect - I did not trip on the dress, just had to lift a little when I walked up the stairs. I also rented the suggested emerald and crystal necklace and earrings suggested. Definitely recommend for a black-tie event!

This dress was gorgeous and even better looking in real life. I loved the fabric and how vibrant the green was in my portraits. I'm 5'2 so I wore a platform heel with it since it was too long with regular high heels. Highly recommended!

I ended up wearing a 2R actually, not 2L, but it was still very very long. I kept almost tripping, even in pretty high heels!

This dress has a very flattering fit. It really accentuates your assets and hides your tummy. It was very comfortable as well. I'm 5'4" so wore the Regular length with a 3 3/4" heel which made the length just right. It does run a bit small - I usually wear a size 8. My backup size was an 8 and I was able to get it on, but couldn't zip it up. I'm a 36C bra, so if you're smaller than that, maybe the size 8 would work for you. I would definitely recommend this dress, it's gorgeous and photographs well!

I got a 4R (128 lbs, 5'4"), and it was a little snug and I needed someone to zip me. My backup size (6L) was out of the question because even the 4R was a tad too long for my height (6R was not available). There is no stretch whatsoever with this dress. The dress is constructed with thick fabric, and on the heavy side for dancing, although not insurmountable with a little determination! My legs did get extremely hot however. The dress did not slide down at all throughout the evening. Other reviews mention this, but in case you missed it - there is a very visible gold zipper on the right side of the dress. And if the fit is snug and you're trying to zip yourself, you will definitely catch some skin in the process. My only regret is not including jewelry or a stole with my order. The return process is extremely easy, RTR has designed it well - just put it in the enclosed pre-paid envelope and drop it off at UPS. I rented this Total Knock Out Gown by Badgley Mischka for the opening night gala for the 2014 Season of the San Francisco Symphony.

I felt absolutely beautiful in this dress! Great color for a beautiful dress! I The top was definitely snug around my rib cage but that prevented me from ever worrying about it falling. The zipper is on the side and quite prominent given its brass color - I may have gone with different color jewelry had I known that. I wore 4 inch heels which allowed for my toes to show with the one side still trailing on the floor. I had to laugh when I realized the dress was not coming up given its mermaid bottom when I had to use the restroom - a friendly stranger helped me re-zip. So glad I rented this dress!

This dress fit perfectly and the color was amazing. I did have some issues with the length of the dress. It was long enough but I kept stepping on the front of the dress. I think the 8R would have been sufficient but I loved the look of the longer length.

I am 5'7", 34B/C and 152lbs and the 8R was slightly snug but I liked the fit a lot. I was cinched in and had curves in all the right places. I think the 10 would have been too big in the bust and wouldn't have looked right. I got so many compliments from complete strangers in this dress & I loved wearing it!

Would recommend it to anyone! It was comfortable, easy to wear and was an absolute hit at the film premiere! Just remember to put your shoes on before you put the dress on, because you won't be able to bend over once you're in it.

The top has NO stretch to it so while the 4R was a tiny bit more flattering through the hips/waist, my bust was simply too large to be zipped into it. That being said, RTR doesn't yet offer bust sizes higher than D/DD in their rating system (I'm a G) so if you are busty but not over a DD/DDD you should probably be fine with a 4R if you're narrow through the waist and hips. The 6R held me in tightly, no strapless bra needed! It was a little uncomfortable to sit down in but not tight enough to make me feel uncomfortable while eating dinner. I have pretty short legs and went with 4.5 inch heels, which made the dress perfectly skim the floor. I honestly have to tell you that I have never loved a dress as much as this one and would buy it outright if I could. I paired it with the Tuilliers necklace and Plantation earrings; perfect! I have never received so many compliments at one time as when I put this dress on. Easy to walk in. I felt absolutely flawless in this dress!

It was a wonderful dress, there is a gold outside zipper on side, which isn't seen in the picture. Easy to move in but make sure it's properly aligned when going to zip it up.

This was a great dress for a black tie event and received numerous compliments! I am 5'2' and it was still very long, even with 5 inch heels. I used double sided tape to temporarily hem it. The length was my only complaint for shorter girls.

I wore this dress to a black tie political fundraiser and let me just say, WOW! I wear an 8 in regular clothing, but a 10 in formal gowns is pretty typical, so I would definitely say this dress runs pretty true to size. I am 5'7" and wore the long with about a 4 inch heel and it was the perfect length. The dress is a nice rich, thick material with some ruching across the middle, so perfect for hiding any tummy flaws. It has a straight-across neckline that is well crafted and does not cause any "muffin-topping" effects. The dress also has a little train (you can see it best in the second picture), so take note if you're going to be somewhere crowded (I was and people were stepping on it all night, but the look was worth this small sacrifice). The color is stunning and stand-out. I paired the dress with a gold-plated belt I found on amazon for about $5 (Lupita Nyong'o wore a similar dress for BAFTA paired with a gold-plated belt-- look for less!) as well as the gold Southern Plantation Earrings, rented from RTR for $5 and a gold cuff I had at home. I rent from RTR pretty frequently, and this may have been my favorite rental of all! My boyfriend bragged about how 'stunning' I looked.. made it worth the price itself!

This dress was absolutely stunning. I loved it from the second I saw it on the website and it fit like a glove when I went to the shop to first try it on. I tried on a 6L in the store and being 5'3" it was extremely long on me but the stylist said it should fit well in the 6R. When the dress arrived, it will still a bit long, even with 4" heels so fortunately I had ordered the 4R also and it fit beautifully! Generally with a small top and larger hips/thighs I have trouble with dresses but this hugged in all the right places and was flattering. I wore this to a black tie wedding and received numerous compliments all night. The hardest part was having to return this beautiful dress the next day! The service I had received was very helpful from start to finish - I'd definitely recommend this dress and RTR.

Neither dress I ordered fit as I had to size up due to my bust. Rent the Runway was awesome to send out the correct size overnight!! They sent the 12 L It was a touch too long, but I was able to get the girls in It, so I was happy!

This was my absolute favorite dress I've ever worn! I got so many compliments on it. I tried on the 4, which is my normal size, but it was too small in the ribcage area. The 6 fit well, but it was roomier in the hips (which was actually not a bad thing, since it gave me more of a shape).

What a beautiful dress! I wore this dress to a black tie preferred event and received several compliments on the style and color. I chose a 10L and 12L as back-up based on the information provided, but felt the dress was a little large and probably could have gotten away with an 8L. The long option is long -- I ended up wearing heels that were probably close to four or five inches to accommodate the length of the dress. Overall a beautiful dress!

The fit is perfect! It held everything in place and I didn't need any extra support, like Spanx. The only problem I had with this dress was that it was raining, so it was unavoidable getting the bottom of the dress a dirty, even holding it as I walked.

The dress fit pretty true to size. I am usually a size 6, however, in this dress I was a size 8. I ordered the extra length because I am 5'11" and it worked out perfectly. My only suggestion would be to examine the zippers a little more closely. The zipper kept getting hung up in the same spot--most likely due to the fact that it's been worn so many times. Other than that, I absolutely loved this dress and highly recommend it for anyone who wants a bold, eye-catching color.

Both dresses I ordered fit perfect - but, this one was THE ONE! The necklace I rented with it set it off perfectly. I received compliments all night. It was a little long, but I just bought some gold shoes that were really high and it worked great.

I wore this dress for a black tie wedding and got compliments all night!!! Was even told by members of the bridal party that I was best dressed! The dress was a little long (even with 4" heels). The color is stunning! I would rent again!!

This dress is to die for. I wore this for a formal event, and I received compliments non-stop. It is perfect for hourglass shapes, but will really suit any body type. It does, however, run very small on the bust. If you are large busted, I would recommend going one to two sizes up. This dress, paired with the Ciner Emerald Necklace, was a smash-hit. I would recommend this dress to anyone!

I usually wear a 6 in dress (I'm about 142, 5'9") but this dress ran small. Also, I ordered both sizes in R because reviews told me it ran long, but when I tried it on, it was right at the floor and I had to go shopping and hunt for tiny heel shoes to wear. If you are about my size and plan to wear anything more than a 1 inch heel, I would get the L size! The upper chest/rib area runs small but it definitely stays up!

I loved this dress so much, the color the fit, the overall appeal to it--amazing. I originally ordered a 6L, but that was too snug for me so I went with the 8R (which was my back-up) and I am so happy that I got it because the fit was just perfect. The only thing I would give caution is the trail; biggest pain in the butt, but other than that I would highly recommend this dress!

I absolutely love the color and look of this dress. The problem is the zipper- I ordered it in both a 2 and a 4; the 2 fit perfectly but the zipper was broken and would immediately split in half when zipped. The size 4 was a bit big and the zipper was still VERY difficult to zip, but was not broken like the size 2. So I made the 4 work and I don't think anyone noticed that it was a little loose. The length was perfect in both the 2R and 4R in 5 in heels (I"m 5'5" exactly)- the hem just grazed the floor. Be aware that there is a small train in back, though. Overall I loved the dress, but took one star off bc I would expect better quality hardware on a Badgley Mischka dress. I should also mention that I'm about 12 weeks pregnant and this dress hid my small baby bump perfectly. I am also about 125lbs now, not 116 as stated in my profile.

Overall- loved it. My first venture with a mermaid style dress- not super fun to walk in... but own that non-fast walk. Favorites: Color- gorgeous spring green, cut, material Downfalls: Material bunched around the stomach- adding bulk that made my mid section look a little larger than it was. Also- bust was too large around my rib cage-bust. Had to make my own adjustments.. I am 5"8 and wore 3-1/2" heels and the length was perfect.
