This dress was an absolute dream! When I went in for my styling session at the Rent The Runway store in SoHo, I knew I wanted something dramatic, elegant, and jaw-dropping for my first time attending the Tony Awards. This dress was the perfect fit! The color was divine. The fit was perfect. I didn't have to tug on it at all (which was a huge plus!). It was a little bit low in the back for my strapless bra, so I had to whip the body tape out, but I didn't even mind. I had people commenting on the dress all night. One of the people watching all of the attendees arrive told me my dress was her favorite she'd seen and another asked me who the designer was. All night long people were commenting on how gorgeous it was. Also, I don't think people on the sidewalks have ever been nicer to me. I attribute it all to the dress. :) Oh, and we mustn't forget that this dress has a bustle! How often do you get to wear a dress with a bustle?! I would recommend pinning it on the left side so it doesn't come undone. Just a tip. But seriously, I loved this dress. Love, love, loved it!

This dress is gorgeous ! I felt like a Princess when wearing it. I never wore a bustle before so I needed a little Help during the evening but it was well worth it!!!!! The Mystery Gift were earrings that I wore to the event That were exquisite. I needed to order this dress as a style change when I was able to determine the actual Measurements of Monique Lhuillier. It fit like a glove ! I danced the night away and highly recommend if you want classy dress with style.

This was my back up dress and lucky for me it was brand new. The fit was impeccable. The length was perfect for me with 3.5" heels and I'm 5'8". I'm a 32DD and the inner part of the top had a bra-like closure, then an outer zipper. The train was a great length and wasn't a problem on the dance floor. It was simply regal and I would rent it again.

I got engaged in this dress!!! I had no idea that was going to happen and the dress made everything so perfect. It was true to size just a touch snug. The zipper took some wrangling but once zipped I was in LOVE. It was just the most amazing dress and the most amazing night. RTR was incredible, the dress came promptly and the return was so easy. Renting again soon

I usually wear a 4, but only the 6l was available. It ended up working out great! It was a bit big in the top, and I am a 32DD, but I made it work! This was the most amazing dress I've ever worn, aside from my wedding dress!

I had a problem with the zipper on the back, but the stylists at the 18th street showroom were wonderful and helped me get ready for an evening of great fun. Thank you, ladies!

This dress was so fun to wear and was absolutely stunning! The only thing that was a bit annoying was that the train in the back would randomly unhook- so I had to have my husband hook it back every time. Other than that, it was a great dress. I wore the regular, only because the long was not available, but it still fit nicely, although, the long would have made it perfect. I have flats on in the photo.

Perfect for black tie/tux event. Length was perfect for a 3" heel + 5'8". Bust fits a little weird and bustle will slip out of brackets when sitting. They don't have a snug fit. Waist line is so pretty and structured. Perfect for a square body type to give the illusion of curves.

Wore this dress at a formal party. I got tons of compliments, and it photographed extremely well. I wore a 4R but being in-between a 2 and 4, I should have ordered the 2 because it was a true 4. The condition was exactly what I expected, no surprises. This dress made my evening very special!

The fit was perfect. I did require assistance zipping/unzipping and attaching/detaching the train. I'm 5'8" and the 4R length was perfect with 2 3/4 inch heels. I received so many compliments from complete strangers that I wanted to stay out all night and wear the dress to work on Monday!

I didn't think this would work, being I'm a 12/14 and the skirt was shaped, but it really looked SO much better than the other wide skirted dresses I chose. I was lucky because one of the dresses I chose wasn't available and this was a last minute replacement. I steamed it out and ironed out the train, which looked very wrinkled and well sat on. I also had to sew on a hook. I probably could have worn the 14R, and I only had 2.5 inch heals, but it draped down and swept the floor in a very pretty way. I'm at 36 DD/DDD and wore the interior bra strap at it's tightest setting. It was a tight zip up but stayed up very well. I pulled it up a few times, but in the end it really wasn't a big deal. The train only detached if someone stepped on it (usually while dancing) but it was like a rip cord safety feature so the train wouldn't tear. You can pin it, but I didn't need to. I was initially worried about sitting down, but it stretched out a bit during the evening and was quite comfortable. I received many compliments and while you can't adjust it (as a rental), it was a good fit and I would rent this again. Try it with over the elbow or opera length kid gloves! Looks wonderful! BTW, you definitely need someone to help zipper you in. I can't imagine doing this on my own. Also, it's too low in the back to wear a standard strapless bra, so go tight if you can. Also, some reviewer complained about the train, but I would sweep it to the side when I sat in it and it never detached. The hooks are on the left side, and it you approach the chair from its right side, and sit starting with your left leg, the pull of the sideswept train will keep the hooks from detached. I never lost the bustle until my husband stepped on it during a vigorous dance. Also when dancing in a circle, sweep your right leg out, around and back as you turn and it keeps the bustle out of the way. Think like Ginger Rodgers and you can manage it.

Dress fits tights in the bust so I went up a size but my chest is large for my size. It has a built in bra and hard to zip but the support was amazing!

This dress is a stunner. It is great quality and super elegant! It was just way too short. There is no way it could really be considered a long dress. I was devastated I couldn't wear it. There was another woman at the event who had it on (so it was actually a good thing I didn't wear it) and it was a jaw dropper. I posted her pic! Super elegant!

This outfit made me feel like a princess. I have always wanted to wear a gown with a train and I was able to accomplish that beautifully in this dress! For this wedding I was a bridesmaid and the emcee for the wedding reception so I needed a dress that fit that role the occasion. The material is very heavy with lining, thick and not stretchy so a bit difficult to dance like a wild thing but perfect for your average dancer! This dress is perfect for an hourglass shape like mine! I was loving the train but the hook to secure it on the back kept unhooking and my family and friends kept having to hook it back on for me on the dance floor. If you are on the fence about this dress, get it!

Fit perfectly and was very flattering! The only complaint is that the clasp that held up the train came loose easily and had to be re-clasped multiple times. Besides that it was perfect!

I'm somewhere between an 8 and 10. I ordered the 10R and 12R. I'm 5'6", and wore this with 3-inch heels and the length was perfect. The 10R was too tight around my thighs and I couldn't get the zipper up all the way -- but it seems others have also gone up a size with the dress. The 12R fit great on my waist, but I had extra room in the chest, as I'm not as heavily endowed there. I was presenting in front of 200+ people, and wore the dress for maybe an hour. The quality of the dress was overall good, not excellent, but for my purpose, this dress worked perfectly. And it's a flattering fit on a number of body types.

I got so many compliments last night and felt truly gorgeous in this dress. I took a star off because it was definitely not a "put it on and forget it" dress. The train hooks into the bodice and the hooks were loose with wear so I had to keep readjusting it; the bust was a bit large for me and the back was a bit too low for a normal strapless bra, so I was doing the chicken wing sporadically to pull it up, and I think the empty bust made my boobs look a little funny but overall it looked so good that I didn't care. There was also a tiny bit of wear and tear around the hem from getting stepped on, but definitely nothing noticeable. Overall, 100% recommend this dress for a magical night!

I loved everything about this gown - color, style, fit, elegance except for one major problem. The train/bustle design is very poor. The hooks and snaps that attach the bustle to the left side of dress are inadequate to support the weight of the train (the right side is sewn on but because you need to access the zipper, the left detaches). I spent the entire night trying to rehook the bustle every few minutes. Dancing in the dress was surprisingly easy. It was very comfortable and I received many compliments. If I were to rent again I would take to my tailor and have him add more secure hooks and eyes for the evening. The dress is so elegant you don't need much to accessorize. I wore silver Jimmy Choo pumps and pearls and carried a monochromatic navy clutch.

This was a wonderful winter ball gown! Thick dress so I didn't need spanx, and I didn't need a bra because of the corset and shelf bra built in the dress! My only complaints are that the zipper got stuck halfway when it met the middle fabric and the train kept detaching so my husband had to help me zip up and he was constantly re-attaching the train. Regular length was perfect, not too long as I stood in 3 inch heels and I'm 5'6. If you at busty go up a size like I did! I'm normally a 12 but this fit like a glove and it was getting tight in the bust area so I went up one size to a 14R! Beautiful dark blue gown!!!

built in bra and boning which made it very comfortable, and the material is very thick so you don't have to worry about undergarments showing through. It is very tight under the bust for the size but had a lot of room in the bust area. Comfortable. I ordered two dresses in Long and was very surprised at the length, only able to wear a 1 1/2" heel for the dress to hit the floor. It looked like both had been cut and re-hemmed. Definitely not 'long', compared to a BU dress I ordered in a long size. I wore it to an event that I had to stand and sit a lot of times and the hooks holding the back train did come undone a number of times.

Beautiful color, love the structure of the gown. It's a little crinkly, so at first I thought it was wrinkled, but realized it's just the fabric. Looks amazing in photos. The length was good, I'm 5'9 and was able to wear 3" heels and still have the dress skim the floor. Great for showing off a little sparkle on the toes! One issue was that the bustle in the back kept coming undone, probably from too many wears. Totally worth it for the wow-effect, but I would have some extra safety-pins on hand to keep it secure.

lovely gown. a show-stopper. If you are busty like me, you'll need a strapless. the material is heavy and stiff - it get's hot. wear with strappy high heels.

The fit is very snug around the waist, I'm very straight from bust to hip without much of a defined waist so it was a little snug, but it was doable. I'm 5'7 and wore 2inch heels and it was good. The long would have been too long. There is a built in bra so a strapless bra was not needed. Got tons of compliments.

Loved the dress. It was fun to wear and the color was enough deviation from black to stand out without going really bold. Definitely a sophisticated, elegant, red carpet worthy look. Not to mention, how many times does a girl get to wear a dress with a train? Make no mistake, this is a fitted dress and the fabric is appropriately stiff to give the dress its shape and style But, bending over and sitting require some adjustment. Additionally, if you're not terribly busty, you'll have some gaping across the top. The dress has a built-in bra, which was fantastic and I didn't find myself having to pull the dress up despite its strapless style. Also, I'm not into terribly high heels ( 3" is about it for me) so this dress was a tad bit long and I found that I had to be very mindful with the train and hem. All things considered, it's a worthwhile wear. If you're on the fence, go for it!

Snug in the bust and hips and zipper was a challenge but I would've totally worn this if it came in one size up. 12r created a pooch in the tummy, which I didn't need. Felt glamorous and beautiful in this dress. Someone with less curves could wear the 12. Def wear with higher heels with the train!

If you're busty, size up wayyyy up. I'm normally an 8 and I could barely zip the dress over my 34DD chest. It left plenty of room in the hips. The bustle is a good disguise to cover the bottom half being a bit too large. You have to go up to make the chest work. The bustle also kept coming undone all night. As soon as my husband hooked it, it was hanging off within minutes. We had to pin it with safety pins. Pretty annoying to deal with. Other than that, beautiful dress.

This dress is a head turner. The train and skirt are pronounced and fabulous - the material is flattering. The only bummer was the 4R I rented has a loose clasp in the back that attached the skirt to the bodice. It kept coming undone all night. I would definitely rent this style again!

It is a stunning dress. Very Formal and classy

Fit was great,material very heavy and thick, no stretch. Built in bra worked well. Major downside of this dress was the train kept coming unhooked if pulled or stepped on. Even with multiple safety pins it still came out because the train is very heavy due to the material. Wore this as part of a bridal party and all the bridesmaids had the same problem. This would be a great dress for a photo shoot or a mostly seated type of event. Very hard to dance in due to the train issue.

This dress is stunning. But sadly, my D+ chest was just a little too big to be comfortable all night. I could have worn it, but the front of the 10R just came to the top of my foot and looked a bit awkward. I also saw the same dress at the event, so it turned out to be a good thing in the end. I suggest RTR have a list of ordered dresses for the same weekend from a city. It would be relatively easy to alert us if the same gown had been ordered for the same event. I saw two other dresses from RTR that night and we were all lucky we selected different gowns.

Dress fits great. The only minor thing is the train on the dress comes unhooked, solved this by pinning it.

Great dress, great fit. Beautiful all around. Long but manageable

Pros: Elegant, classy, beautiful, great quality. the color is gorgeous it runs a tiny small on the hips (about 1/2 inch that I needed to sit more comfortably), but the 10 was too big Cons: I am 5'7', wore 3 inch heels, and the dress was too short. I wanted to use 5 inch heels, but looked awkward. the long version of the dress wasn't available for me to rent. One of the hooks in the back did not work properly, and the tail kept going loose every time I would sit

The fit is a little tight up top, and the zipper in back will require an extra set of hands. The piece in back had a couple of hook/eye pieces to hold it on, which had to be adjusted a few times but by the end of the night it was holding up fine.

Absolutely stunning dress. The train is exquisitely glam. Best for a more boyish shape, and not for an hourglass figure. It was rather tight at the hips, and the waist was bunching from being too large. Definitely for the more petite type. The bodice is boned, but the way it curves, it can only accommodate tiny mosquito bumps. For reference, I am 33--24-34. I did love this dress though, I just wish I had the body type to best fit.

The fit was perfect around the waist and hips. The only negative was ensuring the bustle stayed in tact. My friends had to keep an eye out for it.

Wore this to a Mardi Gras ball and felt great. Only issue was the train clips on and kept coming undone. The dress also seemed like it had been worn a ton and maybe needed to be retired. It fit in my waist but was big in the chest, I am a 30C. Overall I loved it and felt great in it but I wish the train wasn't such an issue!

This was my second backup dress after my original order changed. I didn't wear this one because it was also my backup size, so it was too large for me. However, based on the feel of the 8L, the 6L would probably have been a bit small for me. That said, the fabric was lovely and thick. The shape was very pretty, and the back of the dress was pretty stunning. Would consider renting this dress as my primary dress for another occasion.

I truly loved this dress but I didn't end up wearing it, decided to go with Nicole Miller's Midnight Sequence Gown. Overall the fit is a bit snug, I'm anywhere from a size 4 or 6 depending on the dress and with this dress I was a 6 but it didn't leave much wiggle room. The chest area was a bigger in the 6 for me, but the length was right on the money with 4-5 inch heels. The one issue I had is that the train buckles weren't as secure which also was a deciding factor as I would have needed to fasten it whenever it came loose. Would highly recommend, and would 100% reorder again for a future event as it was glamorous.
