I loved it for the black tie formal I attended, but could easily be worn to an up-scale wedding or private event/party. One thing to note: it does fit tighter through the hips and thighs. (It also hid the walking boot I was in much better than anticipated!)

I would have liked the 8L but it wasn't available. I pulled the 6L off with some extra hair!!! I thought the long would have been longer, from other reviews, so I brought 5in heels to wear with it. Once on with the shoes the dress was right below my ankles. But the shoes were FAB so I was happy to be able to show them off.

This fit perfectly for me with my heels. The dress flowed nicely and felt comfortable. I received several compliments (even from the bride!)

I was a little nervous about the dress because the model is skinny and I am more curvy but I loved the way the dress fit. It hugged all the right places. Loved it!

I typically wear a 4, weigh around 122-125, am 5' 5 1/2, and have a size 34 DD bust. After reading the reviews I ordered a size 2 long, and it worked beautifully. Wearing my tallest 4 or 5 inch heels, it was a tiny bit too long, but I worked it by adjusting the rouching at the waist anytime I went up or down stairs. (Hem tape won't work because the material is too flowy). It was nice and minimizing for the bust, which was nice because I went to an event with law colleages. I also ordered the big emerald necklace but it was waaayyy too much. I decided the earrings were just right and didn't take away from the elegance of the dress. I received compliments all night long! (I also ordered the sleek black Calvin Klein keyhole dress in 4L and it didn't fit me at all - waist was too big, arms too long, and not flattering on my hips. This one was by far better for me!)

I'm not sure I can adequately explain how gorgeous this dress is. It fits wonderfully and is extremely flattering. I received many compliments. Not to mention it was comfortable. The length was great I'm 5.9 and wore 5 inch heels the dress came to just above my toes. Only comment I would make is it isn't as shiny as it appears in the image, this is not a bad thing. The material is lovely.

Overall, the dress seemed to fitter to size except in the length. I wore the larger size because the dress seemed a little short in both sizes when I tried them on. After dinner and some dancing I noticed that the dress was stretching and getting extremely loose and saggy. At that point, I was really wishing I had gone with the smaller size.

My wife had this as her backup dress and found it to be too long for her...she loved it and felt it to be comfy, but her heels kept on getting caught on the dress

Love this dress, it fits tight but very forgiving. The color is darker than the picture. My dress arrived two days before the event, and I noticed that mistakenly they sent me 2R which with heels it was short ( I am 5.7.) I contacted the customer service and they were super nice. They sent me the right size and gave me discount for inconvenient. Love the dress and the service.

The fit was great. I'm short and it really wasn't too long...although I wore 4 in heels. Loved it. The color went really well with my complexion (olive skin and dark hair)

This dress is very flattering on, as well as very comfortable. I ordered the 6L and it fit perfectly with my 4" heels. I received so many compliments on this dress throughout the night. It is a darker blue than shown in the picture; almost black. I would definitely recommend this dress!!

This dress was fabulous and I got so many compliments. It was perfect for a very formal wedding. I am glad that I read the reviews and went with the L instead of R. I am 5'7" and with 3 1/2 inch heels the R was way too short, but the L was perfect. This was my first time using Rent the Runway and I will definitely use it again!

This dress is stunning! I wore it to a ball with the AV Max Silver Hammered Cuff and Dannijo Corbine Earrings (no necklace) and was complimented all evening. The dress is darker than pictured, closer to navy blueish-black. I am 5'4", wore 2" heels and the regular length was perfect. This is a must-wear!

This dress was absolutely gorgeous and very flattering! I would recommend getting a size smaller than usual bc I do think it runs a little big. It is not as shimmery as it looks in the photo and it is not as long as it appeared so pay close attention to your shoes. Very satisfied.

This dress is absolutely stunning! I received the dress with the original tags still on it, so it was perfect. I am 5'7 and 135lbs... both the 4 and the 6 fit me- you can adjust the fit with the draping of the fabric- it is very forgiving. I wore this to a black tie wedding and received so many compliments. One note: when I looked at the photos, the flash made the fabric look more sheer than it actually looks in person.

I wore this dress to an outdoor evening wedding at the Bronx Botanical Gardens. This dress was stunning. The fit was perfect and it was so comfortable. I ordered the dress in both the regular and long. I ended up wearing the long because my shoes where over 4 inches. The ruching in the front was perfect for covering my belly bulge. I received and am still receiving so many compliments on how gorgeous I looked in this dress. This dress screams simple elegance and is a most wear a formal occasion.

I loved this dress more in the picture. I rented it as a 'backup' - It is darker in person...almost black. It also felt a bit loose... I wanted something that 'popped' a bit more - so went with the other dress I rented - a Badgley Mischka.

I thought this dress would be simple, elegant, sexy. It was definitely simple and elegant, but it was too plain and not really that sexy. My formal was cancelled anyways, so I returned this for a credit. I really wanted to like it.

Ordered this dress as a back up to the Plein Sud Under the Moroccan Sun dress. Didn't end up wearing it. Gorgeous deep blue color, from the waste down true to size (slightly clingy), and a little big on top. Too much ruching through the hip and waist for me to really feel comfortable, especially given the fitted hip and slightly large top.

As previous reviewers have mentioned, this dress is a really dark navy, almost black. Though I didn't get to wear this dress, when I tried it on, the material felt nice and slinky; I could tell it would be a really comfortable dress to wear all night long. Unfortunately, I couldn't fill it out in the chest area so I ended up returning it. Great customer service at RTR, though. I'll definitely try renting again in the future!

much more mature looking than in the photo. i did up not wearing this as i felt like a mother of the bride/stevie nicks. fits snugly around the hips and the clingy jersey fabric is not especially flattering.

I wanted to love this dress. I loved the idea of it. But it really overwhelmed my small frame and looked big and baggy, not like the picture where the dress appears fitted except for the batwing area. I found the whole dress to be big. I usually wear a 0.

I normally wear a size 2L, but decided to go with a 2p because I always end up sweeping the floor with L sizes. They didn't have a 2L as a back up available when I ordered so i cant say whether or not that fit would have been better. I'm a very thin woman who boarders a size 0-2, and this dress in a 2 was TIGHT. Not the flattering kind of tight either. The petite size was too short so I didnt wear it on the day of my event for these 2 reasons. I would get it a size bigger just in case and if you are 5'7 or up, get the LONG!

This is a beautiful gown and well made, however it looked AWFUL on me and I did not end up wearing it. I normally wear a 0-2 dress size and tried on the 0 first. Both my husband and I thought it looked like I was wearing a toga or bed sheets. Needless to say, I was thankful for the backup dress that I ordered and that fit FABULOUSLY!!!!

This dress looks amazing on and I got compliments all night. However, there were a few differences then what the picture shows. The dress is a much darker navy color and not shiny like the picture. Also, the dress did not hit the floor, I am 5' 4" and wore 5in heels and the dress was about 2 in off the floor which was better so I wasn't tripping over it when I was walking or dancing. Overall, the dress was amazing and I definitely recommend renting it!

This dress is amazing, wore it to a black tie awards gala, where my husband and I won an award for our business. Ordered the 4L and 2L, turned out the 4 was unavailable so only got the 2 but it was perfect because the fabric is very stretchy. Also rented the necklace as shown, looks great with the dress.
