This dress was awesome...I was able to wear it with a regular strapless bra (Ambrielle) and there was enough support built into the dress that it behaved like a corset-style strapless bra. I am 5’4”, so it was ankle-length on me, which I didn’t terribly mind. I wore a size six and it fit like a glove- my bust is 32D, and I weigh about 135. I got compliments on this dress all night long, and felt like a million bucks! Would definitely rent again.

-- quite possibly the best compliment I got all night, and I got many on this sassy dress! The way the material gathers at the waist is very flattering. Due to my height, I wore the small, since the medium was a little too low-cut on me in the front. I wore this for a company holiday party, and it was a super fun dress! I was surprised at how short it was- I'm only 5'4" so it is rare for dresses to be short on me. If you are taller and wear a smaller size, this will be VERY short- just a warning. One important note: when I received this dress, both sizes were hung on the hangers incorrectly, with the gathered material at the BACK of the dress, instead of in the front. I tried them both on that way, and thought the dress was a dismal failure, until I remembered from the photo that the material gathered at the waist in the front. I had to pull the skirt up, and through to the back, so the gathered folds fell in the front (hope this makes sense,) and then I realized I could actually wear this in public!

I rented this for my family Christmas photo shoot, since we were doing formal photos this year. Perfect color to match the holiday decor at the Waldorf, where we took our photos! I wore the 6, but did wish later that I had spent more time in the dress before deciding. I hadn't even tried on the 8, but after sitting in the car traveling for a bit, I was uncomfortable since this runs a bit tight in the rib cage/bust area. My chest was a bit squished, since I opted for a more conservative bra, as opposed to more of a push-up, since it was for family photos. I feel like maybe the 8 would have been better, but the dress looked fantastic! It was worth a little discomfort for the great pics :)

I'm very glad I read the reviews and didn't try to put this one on over my head. Stepping into it was super easy. I could have probably worn either the M or the L, but I went with the large purely for comfort, since the medium looked ok, but was a little to tight to deal with all night. This meant that I needed some strategic Hollywood tape, to keep the neckline from slipping below my bra, and to keep the straps in place, since I was really too short for the large. If I was ten pounds down, I definitely would have enjoyed this dress more and worn the medium! But using control-top tights and a backless/strapless corset bra, to keep my mama's tummy in check made this work for me for a fun night out! I would definitely rent this one again, but probably after losing a few pounds.
