While the straps are a little long, they can fairly easily be pinned. The dress was super comfortable to move around in all night. The purple color was a great alternative to black.

I couldn't imagine a better dress to wear for a fun summer wedding. It was fitted while still classy, I got several compliments. I did wear spanx underneath, but that was more for my own comfort vs. necessity.

I wore this dress to a friends wedding 3 months postpartum and it was perfect! So comfortable and still elegant. The ruching around the midsection was perfect, just enough to give some support but not enough to feel like maternity clothes. While there was some gaping at the arms, it wasn't enough to make me avoid wearing the dress.
