I rented this dress with Update to wear for an important meeting and went with the small based on info from other commenters. I put on a few pounds over the holiday season and didn't want the dress to be too snug- I fully expected this to be longer on me than it was on the model. Although the dress was technically wearable, it felt really oversized, Particularly in the sleeves and shoulders. I did wear it once and dressed it down with tights, a belt, and a cardigan, but I was definitely disappointed with this one, and picked another outfit for my meeting.

The pattern on this dress is really unique - for a very conservative dress, it does have a lot of visual interest, and the size of the print is not overwhelming. Based on reviews, I sized up - I wore this to a work party, so I would rather have erred on the side of a little to loose than too tight. However, while the majority of the dress was just a little big and and a little long, the shoulders of the dress were so narrow it was difficult to move my arms. I found this to be really bizarre, since I am a small boned person and always have the opposite problem with rented clothes- the shoulders and arms are normally too big. Although I am more pear-shaped in general, and the material doesn't have much give, There was plenty of room in the hip- thigh area of the dress. I would recommend sizing up. If you are an athletic body type and have broader shoulders in general.... I would choose something else.

This dress is really beautiful, and it was the perfect thing for an indoor/outdoor fall wedding. Reading other reviews, I realized that getting the sizing right for this dress was going to be tricky. Both the XS and S fit well in some places and not in others - If you have a column/rectangular body shape without a really defined waist, this dress will be flattering and fit well. It might help to be average/ tall height as well, since the waist area will align differently with your body. However, since I'm a petite pear shape with smaller bust and waist than hips neither size I ordered was perfect- The XS was a little big in the bust, very baggy in the waist, and very snug on the hips. The S worked in the hip area, but was quite baggy elsewhere. I ended up wearing the XS with some spanx to make it work, and got lots of compliments on the dress - I recommend this dress, but make sure to order the next size up just in case!

I love the cut and style of this dress! Although it was definitely longer and more billow-y on the model, the vertical stripes were very flattering and elongating. I didn't think the deep v /cowl neckline was a big issue on me- I used a small safety pin to secure the front layer just in case because I was wearing it for a work function. I also paired it with a very lightweight ivory cardigan, so the open part on the back would. It be exposed. I rented two Vince dresses from RTR this month and I felt like both ran a bit big - Ideally, I would have rented a size 0 in this.

I was a little hesitant to rent this shirt because I was concerned that the sleeves would be too long - I was pleasantly surprised that the sleeve length and overall fit in XS is really perfect ( I am 5'2", 33" bust, narrow shoulders) I am considering buying this one and looking for some other colors in the same style as well.

I have loved this bag in department stores and was considering purchasing one- however, I thought I would rent and give it a test run at an out of town meeting first. The bag has an incredibly elegant design. As a "work" bag it definitely makes the right impression - the design is classic and restrained and doesn't read as flashy or branded. I could imagine getting one each in black, and blue to match all of my business attire. However, there is one major caveat - the very deep flap and fold-over clasp are very hard to deal with if you need to reach into your bag often for sunglasses,phone, pens, etc. when the bag is on your arm and you open the flap, the bag just hangs open - without the weight of the flap and clasp in place , the bag doesn't really have enough structure to hold its shape. If you're okay with having to place your bag on a table or surface to dig out what you need, this could be a great choice for you.
