The fit is body hugging, but the matte black material makes it wearable for anyone. I love the fun mermaid skirt - perfect for dancing the night away! I'm a pear and this wasn't too tight in the hips - snug but comfortable. I wore a black strapless bra and it worked perfectly. The material is on the thicker side so you may want to take that into consideration when renting in the summer or in warmer climates - would be perfect for fall!
