The dress is very comfortable, but the big, scoop material in the back was too big for my back - which is big to begin with. I could only order the M and L, and I wore the M, but I wish I could have had the small. Coming from a girl with wide hips, that says a lot!

New Year's Eve party. I'm normally a size 6 and I wore the 6. I have wide hips and it was tight in that area, but not in a noticeable way. There are two layers to the dress and sparkles well distributed, so it easily hides tight areas that in a single layer, single color dress, you could not get away with. I've also worn the nude color for a spring wedding and got SO many compliments from women young and old. It's got just the right amount of sparkle so you don't take away from the host of your party - like the bride! It's also sexy (the legs!) but sophisticated (long, sheer sleeves).

I had a black tie summer wedding which is a tricky balance between something fancy and long with something too hot! This dress was the PERFECT blend of a light weight, beautiful design that also had lovely touches of "bling" that made it sparkle just enough to be formal. The jewels on the single shoulder and the empire waste tied as my personal favorite components of the dress. As all the other reviews have said, this dress results in loads of complements, and is a creative step off the typical formal affair path, without upstaging the guest of honor (in my case the bride). I loved this dress and ordered both a 6 (my size) and an 8 per the recommendations of past reviews. Unfortunately the first layer of thin silk (?) was still a little too snug even though the top layer hung nicely. Ultimately it wasn't how it looked but how I felt in the dress, and I realized i'd be pulling at the under layer all night. To put this into context, my friend who is a size 2 put on the size 6 and it fit her perfectly. So swallow your pride and order this gorgeous dress TWO sizes up if you are pear shaped. You won't regret it!

Dress was beautiful but I rented a 6 and definitely should have gone for a 4. The bra-corset is built for a larger bust, and the a-line cut gives you room below your ribs if you are pear shaped so don't be shy about going for a smaller size if you have an A or B cup.

These added the perfect amount of bling to my dress for a summer wedding. However, i had to take them off about half way through the night because they started to hurt my ears after lots of dancing

Dress is gorgeous - incredible detail and structure - but i would not recommend it for someone who is pear shaped. It was too tight through the hips in both sizes I ordered, but my backup dress was gorgeous and fit perfectly!

I am pear shaped and ordered the 4 and the 6. As you can see by the way the model is photographed, it's definitely a dress that is hourglass shaped but has ZERO stretch. So, if you're pear shaped like me, strongly recommend order two sizes if you don't want the dress hugging your rear too much. The 4 looked great standing up, but sitting down was an entirely different issue. Overall LOVED the dress and got SO many compliments on it at the wedding. It's sophisticated with the beading and the long sleeves don't make you hot, plus the shortness of the dress still makes you feel sexy.
