I definitely could have gone down a size but I went with it and it looked great. I had a business dinner and this was the perfect combination of professional evening wear. The back has a bit of a fun twist with added black detail along the zipper. The waist cuts just right and looks very flattering. If you are between sizes though definitely go with the smaller one. It has a bit of stretch in the fabric.

The material felt like a leotard, it was stretchy and a bit shiny. My biggest problem with this dress was the top of it. The shoulders were very broad and the boat neckline did not look right. The other reviewers were spot on with the comments about the long sleeves and small see through sections on either side. The criss cross in the waist defined my shape but the top was so funky looking that it didn't matter.

I tried the dress on in the store and it was super long so I ordered the petite and the length was perfect. I ordered the 6P and 8P and although they both fit the 8 was falling down a bit. So I went with the 6 and it never moved. I did not lift it up once the whole night!
